Small-group journeys

Some places are better shared.

A few travelers, one long table and the time to know a place properly. Register your interest and hear first when a journey opens.

I

Small groups

A handful of travelers, so everyone fits around one table and nobody gets lost in a crowd.

II

A slower pace

Longer stays in fewer places, with free afternoons to wander on your own.

III

Food at the center

Markets, family kitchens and long shared dinners, the way locals actually eat.

IV

On foot, by train

We move like travelers, not tourists: walking, trains and the occasional ferry.

The author

It began as a notebook carried on every journey.

The bus that never came, the bakery that opened at six, the stranger who walked me to the right platform. I have always written things down, and those notes became this diary.

Today I share them so you can travel with more ease, and I host small-group journeys for people who want to know a place slowly, together.

Field notes

Three habits, kept on every journey.

Linen travel bag and folded scarf on a sunlit train platform bench
I

The platform, early

Arrive before the crowd. A station at dawn tells you more about a town than any guidebook.

Whitewashed stone stairway with an olive tree in late afternoon light
II

Afternoon stairs

Leave one afternoon empty. The best streets are the ones you were never planning to walk.

III

A table by the window

Choose one café and return to it. By the third morning, you belong a little.

“Travel well, not far. The journey you remember is rarely the one you rushed.”

Before you pack.

The things readers ask most often.

All questions
What is Victoria's Diary?

It is my travel journal turned into a home for curious travelers: free travel tips, a members' corner and small-group journeys you can register interest in.

How do I join one of the small-group trips?

Leave your email in the register interest form on the trips page. When a journey opens, people on the list hear first, with the full itinerary, dates and how to reserve a spot.

Does registering interest commit me to anything?

No. Registering interest only means you get the first notice. You decide later, once you have all the details.

Who are the trips for?

Solo travelers, friends and couples who prefer a slower pace, local food and real conversations over ticking off sights. Experience is not required, curiosity is.
